Who We Are
spilo! (verb) — to play.
A playful twist on the German word spiel, meaning play — because for us, play is everything. It’s how kids move their bodies, spark creativity, regulate behavior, process big feelings, and simply be kids. Especially the climbers, crashers, swingers, sensory seekers, fort builders, and upside-down danglers.
spilo! play was founded by Sica — a mom of three energetic girls in the greater Philadelphia area — after searching for more meaningful, movement-based, non-screen ways for her kids to play, reset, and thrive at home. What started as a custom-designed basement playroom for her own family quickly grew into something much bigger after friends and neighbors began asking for their own indoor play spaces.
With a background studying design in both New York City and London — and a career spent leading creative and customer-focused experiences in the retail world — Sica now brings together smart design, movement, imagination, and intentional play to create custom indoor play spaces that are as beautiful as they are joyfully functional.
Our job is to listen first. Then, we let imagination and thoughtful playroom design take it from there.

Movement, Imagination & Regulation
We design every custom playroom around three essential pillars: movement, imagination, and regulation. Our playroom design focuses on movement to help kids build confidence, coordination, and healthy ways to release energy. Imagination encourages creativity, independence, and open-ended play, while regulation-focused design supports focus, calm, and processing big feelings. By blending all three intentionally, we create joyful indoor play spaces that are beautiful and deeply supportive of how kids naturally grow and thrive.
